I promise, we WILL get to the exciting stuff soon but we have to talk about a few common things that can affect the intimacy. One of the most common sexual dysfunctions is low libido. Once I began talking to other women about this topic years ago, I was shocked at how many were affected by it! We women need to talk about these things and share.
As many as 43% of women and 31% of men have experienced sexual dysfunction. And low libido is at the top of the list.
So if you're feeling like you need a little help in the libido department, you are not alone. Many couples struggle with mismatched sex drive. It is helpful to get to the root cause of why your libido is lacking. A few possible reasons could be... Birth control pills. Menopause. Aging. Family problems and stress. Hormonal imbalances. Depression and anxiety. Trauma in your past. Right now, I struggle with even the thought of intimacy after a day spent breastfeeding, carrying a baby around, chasing a toddler, little sleep, and too much coffee...
It's helpful to have an open and honest conversation about where you stand and what may be the cause. Then, I suggest getting rest and reaching for those oils to decrease any stress and to help you both meet in the middle in a romantic way that you both enjoy. Pray about it on your own and together. Ask the universe to help you bring yourself into a good healthy balance.
I’ll give you some great tips to boost your libido in the below. However, if you happen to be someone who needs to tone it down to meet your partner in the middle, diffuse or take a few sniffs of your Marjoram oil BEFORE you meet up with your honey.
Tip #1 - Set the mood EARLY
Ladies, you and I both know that for women, intimacy starts way before things get steamy. Doing things throughout the day to help get you in the mindset can be just what you need to turn up the heat later.
Let’s chat about some ideas that can help get your mind in healthy place.
Meditate // Take some time to sit and meditate. We need to fit meditatation in just like everything else.
Pencil It In // Ok, so I know that sounds like the polar opposite of exciting, but when your schedule is crazy busy, sometimes you have to pencil in those important meetings of intimacy.
Put on Something Special // Put on a little something that makes you feel even more beautiful than you already are: clothing, hair accessory, jewelry, make up, curl or straighten you hair, whatever makes you feel more confident.
Send a Flirty Text // I’m not saying send anything you wouldn't want the world to see ( I mean once things are out there, they are out there lol). Things can be accidentally shared or sent to the wrong person so be careful. A simple “Can’t wait to spend an evening alone” might be just enough to get the wheels turning on the other end. Send a favorite picture of your wedding day, or a favorite memory you shared together. Send your favorite Bible verse or one that you share together that brings you both joy and keeps you focused on Christ. Thank Him for each other.
