This week, we're starting a three part series discussing how you can use essential oils to balance your chakras. Before we start, let's clear the energy around you using sage or sage essential oil to ensure the space you’re in is a positive one.
Here is a simple way to clear your space:⠀
Try making a Clear the Energy spray with the following items: 13 drops of Sage essential oil + 2 oz spray bottle + 1-4 small Clear Quartz pebbles (optional). Fill spray bottle with distilled or bottled water and all the ingredients above or use a 5 ml roller bottle, add the ingredients and fill to the top with carrier oil. Swirl contents before using. Spray it in the corners of your room, over the door frame and throughout the space. Spray it on your mat before you start your yoga or meditation practice.⠀
Or try using a sage stick:⠀
Step 1: Notice funky energy or just want a clear space.⠀
Step 2: Grab a sage stick. You can get them at most metaphysical stores and even at some health food stores.⠀
Step 3: Light it up.⠀
Step 4: Walk around your house with it & create an INTENTION to clear your space. Some people like to walk in a counter-clockwise direction.⠀
Step 5: Run sage under a bit of water to extinguish & place on a fire-proof surface to dry (SUPER IMPORTANT!)⠀
Step 6: Enjoy your now energetically cleared space.⠀
Okay folks, we are going to get right to the nitty gritty. When I first started with Chakras, the hardest thing was trying to understand something I could not see. However, putting them in terms of spinning energies that focus on points of the body and identifying a color and emotion helped me personally.⠀
The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. There are seven main chakras, which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. To visualize a chakra in the body, imagine a swirling wheel of energy where matter and consciousness meet. This invisible energy, called Prana, is vital life force, which keeps us vibrant, healthy, and alive. Blocked energy in our seven chakras can often lead to illness, so it's important to understand what each chakra represents and what we can do to keep this energy flowing freely.⠀
The belief is that, through essential oils, energy can be generated for the chakra to keep it healthy and balanced. Sometimes one, or more, of the main chakras can be out of balance, or the energies flowing through them may be blocked. When this happens it has an effect on our health either physically, mentally or emotionally. Using essential oils can help stimulate the 'energy centers' and bring them back into balance.
