Essential oils have made a difference in women’s health for centuries and, whether you realize it or not, they are all around us. When you walk through a field of flowers, enjoy the shade of a tree or squeeze the juice from a citrus fruit, you’re enjoying the benefits of essential oils. They are found in plants, roots, seeds, flowers, bark and fruit. Here are 5 of the best essential oils for women’s health, and tips on how to incorporate them into your everyday life. With these little bottles, you can keep powerful resources anywhere you need them.



It’s no surprise that Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) has been sought after since ancient times. The complex aroma of this oil can elevate many aspects of your life. Diffuse Frankincense oil to refine your sense of purpose or add it to your beauty routine for a luxurious experience.

Frankincense essential oil has an earthy, uplifting aroma that’s perfect for grounding and spiritual connectedness. When you seek purpose or engage in prayer or meditation, use this oil to enhance your experience. In addition to elevated spiritual experiences, the benefits of Frankincense essential oil include maintaining radiant skin.

Place 1-2 drops in your hands, rub together, set your intention and inhale for 30 seconds. I feel a ripple of calm go through my body. Probably why I use frankincense everyday in my perfume (10mL Roller bottle + 20 drops Joy + 15 drops Frankincense + 15 drops Orange + Carrier Oil = Be Happy), facial moisturizer and body butter. Can you tell this is my favorite oil of all? 

Lavender EO



Lavender essential oil is one of history's most celebrated and versatile essentials oils, and is highly regarded for skin and beauty purposes. As one of the most beloved aromas in soaps, skincare products, cleaners, and perfumes, Lavender is an everyday oil every woman needs. It's primary benefits include: calming and relaxing; cleansing; supports normal sleep; eases occasional stress; and soothes sun-exposed skin.

Did you that Lavender essential oil has over 1,000 uses? My favorite tips are to add a few drops to your mascara tube to promote healthy lashes as it may improve growth; diffuse it during the evenings to wind down; and on my wool dryer balls. Laundry never smelled so good!





Peppermint essential oil is one of the most versatile and popular essential oils, making it a daily must-have. Fresh, nostalgic and instantly recognizable, Peppermint essential oil's scent invigorates the mind and senses, while inspiring a sense of peace. It’s used to soothe nausea and other stomach issues, wake up the senses before a long meeting, and cool overworked muscles. Peppermint also helps to clear congestion, quiet headaches and tackle symptoms from PMS. 

I love to diffuse Peppermint with citrus oils in the afternoon to get me through that afternoon slump. Or I swipe on Peppermint on my wrists and inhale before I work out or before starting the never ending to do list. It boosts my energy level and I’m motivated to complete the day’s tasks. 

Stress Away

The name says it all, right? Diffuse or directly inhale the aroma of Stress Away essential oil during a hectic day to help you refocus your emotions and energy.  Apply it to the nape of your neck or wrists for an invigorating and refreshing scent that will help you remember what’s most important. With Copaiba, Lime, Lavender, Cedarwood, and Vanilla, this oil’s sweet, woodsy, and floral scent is relaxing and grounding. Wear it as a perfume!

I love to diffuse it with lavender in the evenings to relax and promote a good nights rest. Take it one step further and add 4 drops Stress Away + 4 drops Lavender to 1/2 cup Epsom salt and soak away your troubles.

Frankincense + Lavender Whipped Body Lotion

  • 1 ¼ cup shea butter
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • ½ cup almond oil (or other carrier oil, if you have a nut allergy)
  • 1 tsp arrowroot powder
  • 20 drops frankincense
  • 20 drops lavender

Preparation: Using a double boiler (if you don’t have one, you can simply set a glass pyrex dish over a sauce pan filled with water), melt the shea butter and coconut oil over medium heat. Do not boil. Once liquefied, remove from the heat and set in refrigerator for about an hour or more or until the mixture is semi-solid. Remove from refrigerator and begin mixing it in an electric mixer on a low speed. Add almond oil and arrowroot powder slowly to the mixture. Increase the speed of the mixer to high. Add frankincense and lavender essential oils. Whip mixture about 10 minutes until light and fluffy. Spoon body butter into glass or PET container.
